JUNE 2021

June 2021 Blog- Saying Hello Again, But This Time In Person

In last month’s blog we were sad because of the death of our beloved cat Einstein.  This month however, I am happy to say that our blog is more of a celebratory nature as this will be a month of getting to say hello again.  We are officially re-opening the Inn on the weekend of June 11th.  Our first retreat is with the Shamama Group, whose purpose is to engender creativity and healing.  Shamama is led by Michele Lussky, and we are happy to welcome her and the participants with open arms.  We cannot think of a more fitting theme to get us started after 15 months of Covid isolation.  It is my hope that after such a prolonged absence that the fires of our spirit of hospitality are re-kindled and that we can re-create ourselves anew along with those who come to share this special place with us.  I truly believe that the beginnings of the Inn originated with a calling of the heart.  You honor that calling every time you come here and share in the natural surroundings and the gifts of beauty which dwell on this land.

Over the last 15 months we have collectively and patiently plodded a path around the virus, so that now we are able to work on breaking through what the pandemic did to us, and return to the life that we envision.  We have improved the safety of the Inn and invested in infrastructure that helps combat viral spread.  But safety is the responsibility of each person that comes here, and begins with each guest being vaccinated.

In celebrating having survived the last fifteen months, I want to invite you to our table.  On this table, I want to set an imaginary buffet of all the phone calls, Zoom calls, virtual hugs, emails, cards, letters, and acts of kindness that happened.  I want to greet everyone with for real, not imaginary hugs before we sit down.  I want our table to be laden with gratitude, and I want to be able to sit down at that table and tell stories.   I want to share with you and I want us to remember not only all that was lost, but all the lessons we learned and celebrate all the knowledge we have gained.   It is our hope that this is the invitation that you have been waiting for.

Waiting for you with open arms,

Marcia, Pat, and Sharon
